This client wanted to restore this downtown cottage, one of the oldest bungalows in Palo Alto, to its original beauty.
OUR APPROACH
Remodeling included renovation and expansion of the kitchen, master bedroom, all baths, re-landscaping the yard, addition of a saltwater pool, a traditional rose garden, a new patio and deck. Attention was paid to artisanal details and the use of materials in keeping with the vintage glamour and age of the home.
kitchen & dining room
During remodeling the original board and baton ceiling was exposed and expanded. Kitchen cabinetry was constructed to match existing original built-ins. A gas fireplace was added to create a cozy sitting area.
living & family room
We designed stained glass doors to complement the home’s original leaded glass built-ins.
MASTER BEDROOM
The ceiling was raised to add a light valence for mood lighting in the bedroom. Built-ins were designed to provide additional storage on each side of the master bed.
BATHROOM
A vintage claw-foot tub and antique pine vanity created a romantic atmosphere in this sunny bathroom.
Pool & Garden
We designed this saltwater pool and patio to fit snugly into the limited lot size of this downtown yard.
