CLIENT’S DREAMS & GOALS
This client loved the vintage details of her Spanish Colonial home, but wanted to lighten and brighten the original dark interiors.
OUR APPROACH
The client’s timeless furnishings and eclectic art, along with her playful sense of style, guided our choice of finish and palette. The home’s original dark beams and woodwork were lightened throughout, floors were refinished and painted, and existing furniture was recovered and reused.
kitchen
Dark wood floors were sanded down and faux-painted in a checker board pattern of turquoise and celadon. A vintage pine plank was refinished to serve as a butler’s pantry countertop.
Dining room
The client’s original dining set was updated by recovering chairs using fabric that played off her beloved vintage sideboard. Custom sheers with hand-knotted embellishments left the room sunny and bright.
living room
Custom book cases were built adjacent to the fireplace to add shelving and make use of wasted space.
family room
Vivid colors and high gloss finishes, along with a huge custom wall unit and entertainment center, helped to make this family area the heart of the home.
master bath
A claw foot tub, custom draperies, a vintage cupboard, original artwork and faux painted walls combine to make the master bath an enchanting spa retreat.
